What is The Blessed Foundation

Founded in 2000 by John and Dee Curci, The Blessed Foundation is dedicated to the ministry of body, mind and spirit of all persons, regardless of spiritual or religious orientation, by providing a safe, sacred place for retreat, reflection, education and spiritual growth.

Situated on 21 beautiful wooded acres, it is as though the grounds of the retreat center are a womb of creative space for the mind, body and spirit.  Nature beckons us to look deeply into the beauty of creation and recognize our own inherit beauty and to transcend that which keeps us bound....we are called to soar with the Eagles, to bloom with all of creation, to embrace our call to live fully, human, blessed lives.

It is our deepest desire and intent to hold sacred the lives of all who come to bless this space. We sponsor programs that promote healing of body, mind and spirit.

No appointment is necessary to visit the grounds and walk the labyrinths, which are available daily from sunrise to sunset.

The retreat center, Kairos, is available by reservation, for small group classes, workshops, and private retreats from May through September.

The Blessed Foundation was established as a public charity and organized under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donations are tax deductible.  The foundation commits to use 100% of donations to help others through the work of the foundation.  No salaries are ever paid.

Kairos retreat house is available, by reservation,  for individual or small group use based on availability from May through mid-September.

If you would like to offer your program on the grounds of The Blessed Foundation, Please use the form located on this page link. (Retreat House Calendar)

The Grounds and Labyrinths of The Blessed Foundation are open from daylight to dusk all year.  No reservation is needed for contemplative use of the grounds and labyrinths.

The need for adult contemplative, free from distraction space is desperately needed to still our racing minds.  There seem to be so few nature enhanced spaces designated for reflection and spiritual growth.

The grounds of the retreat center have been dedicated to be used by those seeking to have sanctuary for their soul.

In consideration of this intention, please refrain from bringing small children.    They need space to run and play and make loud noises.  Thankfully, there are many beautiful public parks in Medina for their happy chatter.

The Blessed Foundation's mission and ministry is founded on the Biblical Text

 Matt. 25: 35-40

"For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
A stranger and you welcomed me,
Naked and you clothed me,
Ill and you cared for me,
In prison and you visited me.

Amen I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least,...you did for me."

The Blessed Foundation's name is inspired by The Beatitudes:
Matt. 5: 3-11

 “Blessed Are You”

A SACRED CONTEMPLATIVE SPACE

The Blessed Foundation is a spiritual sanctuary located on twenty-one beautifully wooded acres.  It is a place for adult personal reflection, contemplation, prayer and retreat.

The retreat house, Kairos, is available for group or personal use.  Reservation of the retreat house is required.  Please contact Dee to reserve the retreat house for personal or group use.

Come walk the two labyrinths, visit the fruit orchard, or stroll among the many intertwining nature trails. A newly constructed retreat house, Kairos, is available for group or personal use.

"KAIROS" RETREAT CENTER"
Available May thru October

Kairos - A Greek word that means "God's Time".  It is liminal space where we stand in the threshhold of sacred trust, hope and courage.  It is that space where we hold the tension of the opposites and cooperate with Divine Grace that supports and sanctifies our transformation and transitions.

Kairos Retreat Center is a sacred space dedicated to quiet, prayer, contemplation and retreat.  At Kairos, we invite you to take off your watch (chronos time), turn off the cell phone, and enter into the Timelessness of Divine Spirit.  Kairos is available for small group classes, workshops, and private retreats. The Retreat house is available from May to September. Call to reserve time and for more detailed information. Donations are accepted for the use of Kairos.

A SPIRITUAL MINISTRY

Both the grounds and the retreat house are available for holding classes, workshops and retreats relating to the ministry of body, mind and spirit.

Fruit from the orchard is harvested in the fall and distributed to regional hunger centers.

A Place to Remember
Who You Are

Lily Jean Haddad shares her experience of remembering.

THE SWING

THE ANGEL VOICE

I REMEMBER

As a child growing up in the country with no other children to play with me, I began early to contemplate.  I found that as I sat on the swing that my Father had made for me which hung from a strong branch by a fat heavy scratchy rope had a plank for a seat. I began to be able to reach the ground and propel myself with my feet.  I was about 3 ½ years old.  It was late fall.  The leaves were mostly gone but there were still some hanging on the trees in full color.

My very first life memory is of this one day on that swing.  The imprint of this memory is like a photograph that includes smells and temperatures.  It was one of those autumn days with the odor of fallen leaves and the warmth of that late fall sun of an afternoon.

I leaned as far back as I could lean and looked up into the bluest of blue skies with white puffy full clouds sailing by.  I said to myself, “That is where I came from.”  It was as if all the angels lined up to assure me that I was a Light Being.  I recognized the divinity within me, sacredness around me and I never forgot the feeling that I knew that day.

I didn’t have words for the experience at that time yet there is an imprint that has lasted a lifetime.

Each time I swing it is a special moment of remembering who I am and why I am a Light Worker.
