2010 Highlighting some of the Kairos Events
The Sisters of The Holy Spirit anual retreat day at Kairos. It is an opportunity for these women who dedicate their lives to service to laugh and pray, to share and renew, to bless and be blessed. |
The Youth Group of TheUnited Church of Christ, Congregational in Medina spend the day celebrating God in their lives. In the words of Rev. Mariah Marlin-Warfield; "Our high school youth lead busy, demanding lives. It was good for each of us to step away from this frenzied pace and re-connect with the source of love and life....helping us newly encounter the sacred."
The Blessed Foundation hosted Sanctuary at the Crossroads Abundance Event at Kairos Retreat House on the grounds of The Blessed Foundation. The two hour event included 15 minute rotating mini sessions, 30 minute action and vision card planning sessions. Presenters were Sanctuary Members: Nancy Nicholas (Intuitive Life Coach & organiz...er of the event), Cathy Posner (Career and Transition Coach), Laurie Price (Financial Coach/CPA), Donna Tkacyk, Susan Barack (Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioners) & Dee Curci (Founder and President of The Blessed Foundation) Solar powered air-conditioning within Kairos Retreat House provided relief from the sweltering 93 degree temperatures.

Under the guidance of facilitator, Renie' Brookseeker, the art therapy class of Mary Sender of Cuyahoga Community College participated in a class held on the grounds of The Blessed Foundation. Some comments submitted to May by the students were: Hi Mary- Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful workshop last weekend! The Blessed Foundation was such a perfect setting for the Tree workshop-surrounded by beauty at every turn! This was the second workshop that I attended there, the first being the Labyrinth workshop last year. I told my girlfriend Jadi about how wonderful that experience was, so when the Tree workshop came along, she wanted to attend as well-largely due to what I had told her about my powerful experience walking the labyrinths We walked them last weekend, and she was amazed (as I was) that John and Dee open their beautiful property to all-what giving and amazing people they are to be so kind. We both would like to plan a return trip sometime-it was a wonderful experience-please pass along our sincere thanks to them for welcoming us! Thanks again Mary~Robin Hi Mary it is me I thought that the trip was wonderful last Saturday. I just had to let you know! What I learned was to respect nature for what it is and how to possess the powers that Mother Earth has to offer. As well as how to ground yourself in order to hear what can not be heard and feel what typically cant be felt. The labyrinth walk was also a beautiful experience, thank you so much for bringing this place to our attention and teaching us the wonders of the world! It is a magnificent place!!! See you soon, AaronWhat a great time I had Saturday and so inspirational! An awesome and lovely place, thank you...I did what you said and looked up my Ash tree online, which ironically I took at least 10 pictures of the berries on an Ash tree on Saturday and didn't even know it! Looks like I was drawn to it with out even being aware! Thought that was pretty ironic! Jackie Dear Mary, Thank you for inviting me to the Tree Wisdom Retreat at the Blessed Foundation last weekend. What a wonderful day! It was interesting to learn how people have different experiences with trees. I enjoyed exploring the tree from my childhood. It actually brought tears to my eyes and tender memories to my heart. Rene is a wonderful teacher and she led us through an intriguing journey with trees and the wisdom they impart, if we "tap" into them. I especially liked the personal interaction with a large tree that appeared to have an old man's face carved into it. (natural markings). This tree inspired me to write a poem which Rene requested me to read to the group. I sketched the tree and felt connected and at peace. When we each gave our thought and "message" from the tree that we encountered, we came up with a collective tapestry of insightful advice . It was so nice to be treated to such a wonderful day, with a nutritious lunch ,great conversation, and comradery. I not only went away with a little present and also with the valuable gift of awareness and appreciation for our brother and sister trees. Thanks again Mary, to you, Rene, and Dee for providing a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about the natural beauty at the Blessed Foundation. Sincerely, Marilyn
The Women's group from St. Francis Xavier, Medina, walked the Labyrinth of the Heart. They shared an experience of prayer and connection to Mary, the Mother of God, by praying the rosary.
